Women and Girls with Disabilities face significantly more difficulties and Challenges – in both public and private spheres – in getting access to adequate housing, basic health, education, vocational training and most certainly employment.
Through setting international norms and standards the international community recognizes the need for the Gender Equality and the empowerment of Women with Disabilities to achieve the equal enjoyment of Human Rights and Development for ALL, including persons with disabilities.
The international Foundation for the Independence of Girls with Disabilities (IFIGD) aims to create a Sense of Purpose, Confidence and Empowerment for Girls who feel they're Socially Ostracized.
